Welcome to Sociomate. We care about your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have when you use our mobile application (the "App").

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to run Sociomate:

• Account information: your name and email address when you register.
• Profile content: profile photo and bio you choose to add.
• User-generated content: posts, comments, and messages you create in the App.
• Camera & media (optional): photos or videos you choose to upload for your profile or posts — accessed only when you initiate it.
• Device & usage data: device type, OS version, app version, IP address, and in-app activity used for diagnostics and improvement.

We do not collect your location or access your device contacts.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To provide, operate, and improve the App.
• To display your profile and content to other Sociomate users per your settings.
• To send you account, security, and support communications.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To comply with applicable legal obligations.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only in these limited cases:

• Other users: your public profile and content are visible to other Sociomate users according to your privacy settings.
• Service providers: Firebase (Google Cloud) powers our authentication, database, file storage, and server functions, and is contractually bound to keep your data confidential.
• Legal requirements: when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights or user safety.
• Business transfers: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — you will be notified in advance.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain it.

6. Data Deletion

To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at satyaranjanpuhan371@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request." We will process your request within 7 business days and confirm once complete.

7. Security

We use Firebase security rules and TLS encryption to protect your data in transit and at rest. No system is 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards and review them regularly.

8. Children's Privacy

Sociomate is for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will delete the account and all associated data promptly.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access and receive a copy of your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
• Data portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

10. Third-Party Services

Sociomate uses Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, file storage, and cloud functions. Firebase's practices are covered by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not use any other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last updated date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you through the App or by email at least 7 days before the change takes effect.
